An ambitious attempt at telling Polish history encompassing the period from the 1930s of the 20th century till now. Extraordinary because, inspired by The Ball by Ettore Scola, a film famous in the 1980s, the director decided to give up the word altogether and stick to music and dance only.

Klara Zachanassian (Anna Polony), the world’s richest woman comes to a little town Gullen somewhere in Middle Europe. She left this place in disgrace many years ago, ill-treated by her lover. Her visit is a great opportunity for the poor town inhabitants as it can change their fate- if only she agrees to offer them some of her money.
