Ewa Demarczyk used to perform the most acclaimed pieces of sung poetry which have become inseparable elements of the history of music. She has been admired for her ingenious interpretations of poetry by Julian Tuwim, Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski and Boleslaw Lesmian. Her unique style has been an inspiration for many artists.
During the concert in Opole the tribute to Ewa Demarczyk was paid by Kayah, Justyna Steczkowska, Anna Czartoryska, Katarzyna Groniec, Sonia Bohosiewicz, Ania Dabrowska, Magdalena Kumorek, Marta Florek and Kinga Preis. We heard the most famous songs from Ewa Demarczyk’s repertoire, among others: “A Merry-go-round with Madonnas”, “Hercowitz, the Fiddler”, “Kisses”, “Grande Valse Brillante”, “Tomaszow” and “Peas and Roses”.
At the end of the concert Ewa Demarczyk (the winner – among others – of the first prize during the first festival in Opole in 1963) was awarded the special prize by the Polish Television as well as “The Golden Rooster” prize by the Polish Records ‘Muse’.
